A Material is any tangible item that can exist within the value network. There are four main types of materials

  • Raw Materials, materials that are originated from farming, mining, slaughering or chemical processes.
  • Components, Materials that are used to create Finished Goods or Shippers, like packaging components, electronic components, et cetera
  • Finished Goods, Goods that are either ment to consume or use by the end-user or consumer. Typically the product that is sold online or instore.
  • Shippers: Materials that are used to ship and store Finished Goods throughout the value network. Examples are cases/cartons, displays and pallets.
